Lab Management

Lab tech enters the SO2. Winemaker sees it instantly.

The data goes where it's needed. No more hunting for lab sheets or asking "what was the pH on Tank 12?" Results live on the tank, where they belong.

How it works

1

Enter results at the bench

Pull up the tank or vineyard block, enter your readings. Results are timestamped and linked to the container automatically. No transcription step, no paper trail to maintain.

  • SO2 (free and total), pH, TA, Brix, VA, residual sugar
  • Temperature, alcohol, malic acid, dissolved CO2
  • Custom test types for anything specific to your winery
2

Results appear on the tank

Open any tank and see its complete lab history alongside its cellar operations. The winemaker doesn't need to walk to the lab or ask — they can check from the cellar, from the office, from home.

  • Lab history and operation history in one view
  • Most recent results highlighted for quick reference
  • Real-time sync — results appear the moment they're saved
3

Track vineyard samples through harvest

Lab tests link to vineyard blocks as well as tanks. Track Brix progression through harvest season and compare to previous years. When you're deciding whether to pick, the data is right there.

  • Block-level sampling linked to block vintage
  • Brix, pH, and TA maturity trends over time
  • Year-over-year comparison for harvest timing decisions
4

See all results across the winery

The lab index shows every test across all tanks and vineyard blocks in one view. Sort by date, container, or test type. Spot the tanks that need attention without opening each one individually.

  • Winery-wide lab dashboard with filtering
  • Quick access from tank, vineyard, or block detail pages
  • Complete history never deleted — lab results are permanent records

Common questions

Can I test barrels and barrel groups, or just tanks?

Lab tests can be attached to any container — tanks, individual barrels, barrel groups, and vineyard blocks. The test history follows the container, so when you view a barrel group you see all tests run on that group.

Do lab results affect cellar operations?

Lab results are informational — they don't block or trigger operations automatically. They're there so the winemaker can make decisions with current data. See the chemistry, decide to add SO2, record the addition as a cellar operation.

Can I add my own test types?

Yes. The built-in test types cover standard wine analyses, but you can define custom tests for anything your program requires. Custom tests work exactly like built-in ones — they show up in the same history, the same filters, the same dashboard.

How do I see trends over time?

Each container's lab history is sorted by date, so you can see how chemistry evolves. For vineyard samples, maturity trends show Brix, pH, and TA progression as harvest approaches. Year-over-year comparison lets you overlay this season against previous vintages.

Does lab data appear on TTB reports?

Lab data itself doesn't go on TTB reports, but it supports the decisions that do. When you decide to bottle based on chemistry, the bottling operation feeds directly into your TTB compliance reports. The lab data is there if auditors want to understand why an operation happened when it did.

Chemistry where the decisions get made

From maturity samples in the vineyard to SO2 on the tank, results live on the container they describe — so the next cellar operation is made on current numbers, not a guess.
